Thousands of Christians around the world
prayed for the Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal in one voice for
permanent peace, reconciliation and healing of the nation on the
Global Day of Prayer for Nepal, 14th and
15th April
2007. In Nepal, Christians not only prayed individually in their
churches and homes but they also organized
various joint prayer programs in various
churches across the country. In Kathmandu valley, at least 11 joint
prayer programs were organized and many Nepali Christians were
vibrantly praying for their nation.
A
THANK YOU NOTE
Nepali
Christian community extends sincere thanks and gratitude to all the
individual Christian brothers and sisters, churches, prayer groups
and organizations around the world for praying for the Himalayan
Kingdom of Nepal on the Global Day of Prayer for Nepal,
14th and 15th April 2007 for permanent peace,
reconciliation and healing of the nation. Our special thanks go to
all those who coordinated various joint prayer programs in their
local areas and churches. In Kathmandu valley, the following local
churches and organizations deserve our big thank you for hosting
inter-church joint prayer gatherings for the nation in their
churches:
Ashish Church, ATEN, Bethsalom
Church, Bhaktapur Church, Koinonia Patan
Church, Lalitpur Baptist Church, Lord’s Assembly, Nawajiwan Church,
Nepali Ishai Church, Shalom Church.
Many
vibrant prayer warriors gathered in various locations and groups
were fervently praying and crying to the Lord for the nation. We
deeply appreciate and thank Dr. (Rev.) Ramesh Khatri, Director,
ATEN, the Youth Leader Mr. Jhagendra Rai and Women Christian
leaders Sarita Thapa and Mrs. Shanti Subba for coordinating the
Joint Prayer gatherings of the valley church leaders, youth and
women respectively. A big thank you to all those individuals,
organizations and churches who supported us in prayer and
financially to organize the Global Day of Prayer for
Nepal.
We are
committed and dedicated to the country of Nepal and the Nepali
Church, therefore, it is our pleasure to take such an initiative
and play as a facilitator role to organize such an important annual
event. We continue to solicit usual cooperation in organizing a
Global Day of Prayer for Nepal in future.
Bible says,
"Righteousness exalts a nation" (Proverbs14:34). We believe that
the Lord has given a common responsibility to His Church (both
local and global church) to pray for each respective country
wherever they reside and the world. We would think that by
organizing a Global Day of Prayer for Nepal annually it also
contributes to the Christian spiritual unity especially among
Nepali churches. Moreover, it helps to connect Nepali Diasporas
back to their mother-land and it also contributes to make this tiny
and beautiful country known to the world. As the churches of Nepal
were praying and singing, asking God to start a new work in the
country, we also would like to think that the Lord is opening
another new gate of hope to start his new agenda and plan for the
country. Amen!
